Hey there, first of all, I'd like to apologize for the delay in uploading a post. I'm not sure if I'm suffering from writer's block or I'm just lazy or I'm just in my feelings.
I had quite an eventful week and I was occupied with so much and every time I tried to write something, it either ended in a mess or a waste of time. I just couldn't bring myself to write.
I finally got the strength and inspiration to write. A phrase popped in my head "What's next?" All my life, I've had a plan, for as long as I can remember, I've had a plan for everything. I also always have a back up plan.
Actually, it is "Have a plan, Have a backup in case the plan fails, Throw the whole plan away if the situation requires it". It's worked... well, I haven't thrown a lot of plans away but, I'd say it has a 70% success rate.
The problem is; now, I don't have a plan and it feels utterly wrong. I'm constantly drifting between despair and panic. As a person who over thinks, I try to think of every possible scenario and plan for it. Not having a plan has been scary, weird and somewhat frustrating, but, it has also been enlightening. I have come to realize that not everyone has a plan, not everyone has their shit together and guess what? That's perfectly fine, as long as you're aware that you don't have a plan, you can start with that.
Sometimes, you don't know what comes next. Sometimes, logic fails. Sometimes, you don't know if you're on the right track. Sometimes, you don't know if it'll work. Sometimes, you're scared. I'd like to inform you that that's fine.
Once in a while, you need to take a step back and decide if you want to walk away from everything and start over or if you want to untangle things and figure out shit.
Please feel free to drop advice or tips for people having sort of a quarter-life crisis and how you over came yours.

Food for thought here well written. Great wake up call, nice post. In my opinion, work hard on whatever path chosen. You'll never know what's next. One thing for sure is that opportunity would come, ask yourself a question, "would I be ready? ". 💚
ReplyDeleteDo you think one can actually ever know if they'll be ready, till it's time?
DeleteDont over think it ('It' referring to anything u might be stressing bout)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I wish there was some sort of switch to turn it off. I'll try though. Thanks
DeleteSometimes it good to know that you are not the only one going through a particular issue and talking with others about that issue, It helps gain clarity.
ReplyDeleteMy little advise for all those going through "Quarter-life crisis" is
* Stop comparing yourself with others ( we all did not start our journey the same way),
* Talk about your problems (it helps),
* Do things at your own pace,
* Stop saying "i should be"or "my mates are", it only makes things worse( trust me!),
* Try and get to know yourself ( go researching ,discover yourself once again),
* Invest in yourself ( you are only as valuable as you see yourself).
Nice post, keep up the good work.
This is pretty great advice... Thanks dear
DeleteGreat Post. i needed this btw,
ReplyDeletesometimes I feel like this too, stranded and confused on what to do next, i get afraid of what may hit me next because i do not think I am ready, but the thing is, I have come to understand that sometimes, it is alright to not have a plan, but always keep an open mind and know that life doesn't always turn out to be good, so I just open myself and expect infinity.
my advice to you is; we all know whatever phase we go through, many people have gone through it, people have their individual ways of tackling their problems and not all ways would work for you as it does for another person.
You are alright, even if sometimes you don't have a plan; not having a plan turns out in some cases to be the best plan. keep your mind open in those times you don't have a plan, expect infinity, play along but play smartly;
remember, in a game of chess between two masters, both masters can never really with certainty predict the next move or set of moves of their opponent, they end up playing along despite, but smartly.
Try to view it like that sometimes.
I have no words tbh... I'm crying this guy
Deletenice one ray
ReplyDeleteYup definitely go through this a lot which includes decision making...and I am like you know what ,I am just gonna relax, take a deep breathe and just see how everything falls into place or just take a pause on that particular issue, come back to it and A solution or idea or an inspiration just come up itself and Eventually figure it out
