Ejemplo

Ejemplo is the Spanish translation of the word example. Example is defined as a thing characteristic of its kind or illustrating a general rule, it is also said to be a person or thing regarded in terms of their fitness to be imitated. You know the funny thing about examples, they don't always show us what to do. As an engineer who isn't the biggest fan of Laplace, ( Thank you Pierre-Simon Laplace 👎👎) I can say that examples sometimes suck and all they ever do is confuse you. I have also come to realize, that sometimes, they do more than that, I mean, they can frustrate and annoy you, but eventually, they help you understand something, even if it isn't what you wanted to understand in the first place, examples always provide some sort of clarity.

The thing is, this doesn't just apply to math or physics examples, it applies to people. Often times, people who hold positions of power or possess a certain level of authority are often expected to be examples. Although, expectations often lead to disappointment, these people never fail to be examples. What these examples teach, however, often vary. From parent, to lecturer, to pastor, to supervisor, to boss, to friend, to politician and many more. Sometimes, these examples are of who you shouldn't be, they show you exactly what not to do. I'd like to point out, that although these people show us examples of what not to be, they are not exactly bad people. They are just flawed, as are you.


I'm sure you have people in your life who believe they are an epitome of good, but you have at one point or another, learnt something you never want to practice... from them.

I'm not asking for instances. This entire post is to make you look inward, and note what type of example you're being. The good example; golden child that everyone loves, bad example; an epitome of bad decisions or bittersweet example; sometimes, you're a good example, other times, you're not, you do great, but some of your methods and ideologies are far from ideal.

Now that you've noted them. Take deliberate actions to effect change where necessary and  remember that someone is always watching.
